
Tom is a native of Delaware County and has represented the people of the 168 th Legislative District since June 2003, when he was sworn into office following a special election to fill the seat of the late Speaker Matt Ryan. Tom currently serves as Deputy Whip and Republican Vice Chair of Insurance Committee. Prior to his service in the legislature, Killion was Chairman of Delaware County Council, where he served local residents from 1992 to 2000. While on Council, Tom was instrumental in the effort to aggressively convince SAP American to establish its North American headquarters in Newtown Square.
Tom has been active in a diverse range of non-profit organizations. He helped raise private dollars for the creation of a new YMCA branch and worked to improve the quality of life for residents through the Healthy Communities Initiative and Domestic Abuse Project. Tom also served as a board member of Elwyn, Inc. and the Delaware County Cerebral Palsy Association, both of which support residents with mental and physical disabilities. Tom is a long time supporter of improving the states' library system, serving on his community's library board. A former Vice Chairman of the Chester Heights Planning Commission, Killion has been a longtime advocate of smart growth and land preservation issues.

As the founder and current partner in a small business with offices in Media, Tom knows first-hand the impact of government in our economic and community life. He has been a consistent voice in Harrisburg for common-sense solutions to the problems faced by our hard-working taxpaying families. In addition, his work on the Advisory Committee for Penn State University's Brandywine campus has provided Tom special insight into the unique higher education needs for Pennsylvania.
Tom served on several additional boards, including Children and Adult Disability and Educational Services (CADES) and Rocky Run YMCA. During his long history of community service, Killion has served on various other boards and organizations. These include the Valley Brook Homeowners Association (1986-90), Chester Heights Planning Commission (1988-93), Rachel Kohl Community Library (President, 1988-94), Delaware County Young Republicans (Chairmen, 1992-94), Delaware County Soil & Water Conservation District (1992-2000), Delaware County Solid Waste Authority (1992-2000), Delaware County Convention & Visitors Bureau (1994-01), Southeastern PA Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (1996-2002), Greater Philadelphia Marketing & Tourism Council (1997-99), Healthy Communities Initiative (Chairman, 1999-2003), Southeastern Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce PAC (1999-2003), First Tee Program (1999-2003), Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry (1999-2003), The Walden School (2000-03), and George W. Hill Correctional Facility (2002-03).
He and his wife Eileen and their two daughters, Brittany and Rebecca, live in Middletown and are members of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Tom is a graduate of Penn State University, and Cardinal O'Hara High School.
